3. The competition is international and open to the public.
4. The competition will be held in 6 categories:

I. category – born in 2010 or younger – up to 6 minutes of free choice program
II. category – born in 2008 or younger – up to 8 minutes of a program featuring two different style periods of your choice
III. category - born in 2006 or younger - up to 12 minutes of a program featuring two different style periods of your choice
IV. category – born in 2004 or younger - up to 15 minutes of a program featuring two different style periods of your choice
V. category – born in 2002 or younger - up to 18 minutes of a program featuring two different style periods of your choice
VI.category – no age limit

- 1st round - up to 15 minutes of a program featuring two
different style periods of your choice
- 2nd round - up to 20 minutes of a program featuring two
different style periods of your choice without replaying the program from the 1st round.

5. The order of candidates for competition will be determined by alphabetical order, starting with the letter T, and will be published no later than 5 days before the beginning of the 7th Zagreb Guitar Festival.
6. Younger candidates can compete in the higher category.
7. Candidates who have won the first prize at the Zagreb Guitar Festival in previous years cannot compete in the same category again.
8. Candidates must perform the compositions by heart.
9. Changing the registered program is not allowed.
10. Requested duration implies overall performance of competitors.
11. In case of exceeding the time, the jury has the right to terminate the performance of competitors
12. Competitors will be evaluated by the jury appointed by ZGF organizers. The jury will consist of prominent national and international guitarists and pedagogues.
13. A member of the jury does not evaluate his own student or a competitor he is related to.
14. By registering to participate in the competition, participants accept the terms and conditions.
15. By registering, participants accept and waive their rights and fees for authorship and agree with the public nature of the Festival as well as with broadcasting the recordings of the Festival.
16. Under the terms of the General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR, by registering, the participant consents to the following:
- Zagreb Guitar Festival and the organizer (Music School Bonar) can use his/her personal data for the purpose of promotion on the Zagreb Guitar Festival and EuroStrings website, as well as on social media pages.
- Zagreb Guitar Festival and the organizer (Music School Bonar) are the data controller and can use personal data (name and surname, biography, promotional photographs and videos) for the above purpose.
- Zagreb Guitar Festival and the organizer (Music School Bonar) will store participants’ contact details on its database in case they need to contact the participant for professional purposes. The participant has the right to withdraw his/her consent at any time.
17. The organizer holds the right to postpone the competition in case unfavorable Covid19 Pandemic Situation in Croatia (Zagreb).
18. The organizer holds the rights to change the program and the timetable.

19. Competitors will be evaluated with points from 60 to 100.
20. The Scoring system scheme is:
60 -69,99 Certificate
70 - 74,99 Bronze certificate
75 - 87,99 Silver certificate
88 - 100 Golden certificate

21. The score list and the grades are not publicly announced.
22. The evaluation of the competitors is based on the assessment of the following elements:
• level of technical abilities - the quality of the sound
• phrasing, knowledge and respect of the style period
• precision of performance
• musicality
• musical impression

23. After the competition in each category is completed, the jury will announce the competition results, the awards and the first three places on the bulletin board and the festival’s website.
24. The first three places are specially awarded:
1st Place Winner
2nd Place Winner
3rd Place Winner

25. In case two candidates have the same number of points, they will share the prize.
26. The jury may award special prizes.
27. The decisions of the jury are final and subject to no right of appeal.
28. Before the start of the Festival, participant from I to V category must register and pick up their pass.
29. Each participant will receive a certificate of participation in the Festival.
30. Competitors from I to V category are paying on their own for their travel and stay in Zagreb.

38. The competition is open for all classical guitarists with no age limit.
39. The preliminary round and the final round will take place in the form of video.
40. Both videos must be submitted via zagrebguitarfest.com website not later than 20th of May 2021. Any videos received after that time will not be considered.
41. Both videos must be in mp4 format, minimum resolution HD Ready 720p (1280 x 720px)
42. Both videos must be unedited, in one stationary shot from the beginning to the end for the entire program (not stopping the camera between pieces). The competitor’s face and both hands must be in the frame, and the upper body should occupy approximately 75% of the frame. The competitor should ensure adequate sound and lighting and make sure to film in landscape mode.
43. At the beginning the video should include a verbal introduction of the candidate:
Name, surname, country of origin and the purpose of the recording (First round/Final round of Zagreb Guitar Festival)
44. The 1st round (Video 1) - up to 15 minutes of a program featuring two different style periods of the competitor’s choice. The implied duration is calculated from the first played note to the last played note in the submitted videos.
45. The 2nd round (Video 2) - up to 20 minutes of a program featuring two different style periods of your choice. No repetitions are allowed. The implied duration is calculated from the first played note to the last played note in the submitted videos.
46. Competitors cannot perform the same composition in both rounds of the competition.
47. Competitors must perform the compositions by heart.

51. Along with the online application, candidates are required to send an e-mail with the listed documents to info@zagrebguitarfest.com:
a) A scanned document for identification with picture (passport or national ID card);
* Protection of Personal Data: The Data collected will be processed in accordance with applicable legislation and in particular Regulation (EU) 2016/679
b) proof of payment of the registration fee;
c) the program for both stages of the competition;
d) two videos that should be uploaded upon completion of registration.

52. Registration fee for the no age limit competition is €100. The fee is nonrefundable.

58. The first five listed competitors from the First Round will go directly to the Final Round. An official announcement of the first five competitors will be made on Thursday, June 3 rd and will also be posted on ZGF Facebook and website at the same time.
59. The official results shall be announced upon the end of the competition via facebook and the website.
60. The decisions of the jury are final and subject to no right of appeal.
61. Both stages of the competition will be broadcast from 3 rd till 4 th June via Zagreb Guitar Festival Facebook, YouTube channel and the website.
62. The first places of I – III category and the first three places of IV – VI category are specially awarded. The cash prize will be transferred to the competitor’s account.
