The duo Giampaolo Bandini – Cesare Chiacchiaretta, guitar and bandoneon, was formed in 2002 with the precise aim of reviving Argentinian music through the charm and magic of its most representative instruments. The duo immediately became an important point of reference on the international concert stage for their great communicative power combined with an extraordinary charisma. Invited by the most important festivals and theaters in the world, the duo has toured Mexico, Romania, China, Poland, Slovakia, Austria, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Holland, Croatia, Russia, Slovenia, Turkey, Czech Republic, Hungary, enjoying extraordinary acclaim from critics and the public everywhere.
In 2004 the Bandini-Chiacchiaretta duo was awarded the XV “Beniamino Joppolo” Prize City of Patti (Messina) for the high artistic merits achieved in the music field. In 2005 the duo debuted in the prestigious Sala Grande of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, obtaining such a success that they were invited to return for each of the next two succeeding years.
Their first CD “Hombres de Tango” has sold more than ten thousand copies and has been greeted with great enthusiasm by expert critics.
The duo made radio and television recordings for the most important Italian and foreign broadcasters. Recently their concert in Brussels was broadcast by satellite in more than twenty countries.
As teachers invited by the most renowned academies and universities, they regularly teach in the “Luigi Boccherini” High Schools of Lucca and “Tito Schipa” of Lecce and at the Summer Festivals of Gubbio and Portogruaro.
