Claudio Pio Liviero started his early musical studies at the Gorizia Conservatorium of Music under the teaching of M° Bruno Tonazzi and completed his musical preparation at the “Benedetto Marcello” State Conservatory of Music in Venice, where he brilliantly took his Diploma in classical guitar. He improved his ability with great maestros such as A. Carlevaro, L. Brouwer, A. Ponce and with Francesco Mander for orchestra conducting. Soon he began an intensive and successful concert activity concertizing in Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, Spain, Czech Republic and Poland. He has made tours in North America (Canada) and in Latin America (Argentina, Uruguay). He recorded for various broadcast companies such as RAI (Italian State Broadcasting Company), TeleCapodistria (Slovenia), CFCF and CFMB (Canada) and Radio Clásica (Argentina).
In 1990 he became acquainted with ensemble guitar music during courses with Maestro Leo Brouwer and M. Roland Dyens, convinced believers in the fascination and the didactic value of that experience. On the advice of those teachers, M. Liviero founded the Gorizia Guitar Orchestra which he is still directing. As director of this orchestra besides winning several international competitions he gave concerts for important European Guitar festival and produced three cds.
He was often asked to be part of the jury in important International Guitar Competitions like Genova, Voghera, Split(Croatia), Brno(Czechia), Murska Sobota (Slovenia). At present, he is the director of the Music school of Gorizia. He is the creator and artistic director of the International guitar Festival “Mercatali” of Gorizia (I) and for that Festival he was also awarded with a silver medal by Giorgio Napolitano President of the Italian Republic.
