Danijel Cerović
Danijel Cerović was born on 6 September 1979. in Nikšić, in the family of prominent educators. He graduated from “Milija Nikcevic” Elementary School as a winner of the “Luca” diploma. At the same time, he attended the Dara Cokorilo Elementary Music Education School in Nikšić. He graduated from the High School of Music in Podgorica, and he complete one year as a part-time student at the Secondary School of Music “Josip Slavenski” in Belgrade. In 1997, at seventeen years of age, he enrolled at the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade, in the Guitar Department in the class of prof. Vera Ogrizović. He graduated in 2002 with a grade of 10, with an average grade of 9.52 over the course of his studies. He enrolled in master’s studies in 2002 at the Music Academy of the University of Montenegro in Cetinje, and as early as 2003 he was employed at the Music Academy in Cetinje for the first time as a teaching assistant. He received his master’s degree in 2007 after successfully defending his master’s thesis entitled “Key Guitar Sonatas between the Two World Wars”, and as a part of his final master’s exam he performed a concert program with the works of Mauro Giuliani, Domenico Scarlatti and Manuel Maria Ponse. He completed his post-graduate, two-year studies in guitar at the College of Music in Maastricht (Netherlands) in the class of Professor Karl Markjone.
During his education, he won significant awards at republican, federal (FRY) and international guitar and chamber music competitions. He has also completed numerous seminars in the country and abroad with prestigious artists and educators such as Fabio Zanon (Brazil), Tillman Hopstok (Germany), Dusan Bogdanović (USA) and Beto Davezak (Uruguay).
