Moreno Vinceković
MORENO VINCEKOVIĆ
Born on April 21, 1973 in Varaždin. He finished Gymnasium in Varaždin as an excellent student along with the Music School, where the guitar was his main subject where he graduated as the youngest student in his generation in 1989.
In 1990 he enrolled at the Music Academy in Zagreb where he graduated in the class of Professor Istvan Römer in 1995 as one of the youngest and most successful students of his generation.
During his studies, he won numerous awards and honors. Some of them are the first prize at the Croatian Students and Music Students Competition, the first prize at the Competition for Students and Music Students of the Former SFRY Sarajevo and the Rector Award at the University of Zagreb. At the Music School in Varaždin he has been working as a guitar teacher since 1988, becoming the youngest teacher in the history of the School.
The initiator for the opening of the guitar department at the secondary music school in Varaždin and the first professor there, and today he works as a guitar and chamber music teacher and is the head of the Guitar and Tambura Department.
His students have so far won more than 70 high prizes at regional, national and international competitions and have enrolled in guitar studies at 9 different music academies in the Republic of Croatia, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and England, and two pupils are the annual Rotary Awards for excellence in 2015 and 2016.
For many years he has been actively involved in the development of guitar pedagogy, and in 1998 he founded, together with several renowned guitar pedagogues and artists the Croatian Association of Guitar Pedagogues – HUGIP, which now has more than 300 members.
President of Croatian Association of Guitar Pedagogues from 2002-2010. He is constantly training professionally and has so far organized a large number of professional seminars and concerts for both teachers and guitar students led by some of the most eminent guitarists and pedagogues in the world. In the period 2005-2013 he was a member of the Presidency of the Croatian Association of Music and Dance Pedagogues, as well as a judge in guitar discipline at regional and state competitions organized by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports and HDGPP.
He was the President of the Organizing Committee for the State Competition of Students and Music and Dance Students in Varazdin, President of the Organizing Committee of the County Music Festival of Youth Music, a member of the State Commission for Music Promotion of Croatian Youth, member of the State Commission for the Performing of Students and Music Students and Dance Students, the board of the Baroque International Music School and Dance member of the Festival Council of Varazdin Baroque Evenings, and a member of the Jury for the Awarding of Festival Prizes of Varazdin Baroque Evenings.
