The first part of this year’s Zagreb Guitar Festival has finished with outstanding concerts from EuroStrings winner, Lovro Peretić and young Croatian band Ad Hoc. We are so proud that we were able to organize international competition and live concert this year that showed how music and guitar cannot be silenced even in the most challenging times.

Our Sound of hope concert cycle welcomed some of the biggest guitar names around the world. A true guitar magician and gypsy jazz guitarist, Bireli Lagrene opened this concert cycle sharing the stage with incredible Mate Matišić.

Just a day after the magical Gypsy night, we welcomed the incredible improvisator and guitarist, Miroslav Tadić and talented violinist and vocalist who played in many popular Hollywood movies, Yvette Holzwarth. This duo delighted our audience with a hour-long concert where they played mostly Eastern-european pieces adapted to their specific styles.

The last concert day brought us two amazing performances on our summer stage that transformed Zagreb city jungle into beautiful musical oasis. 3rd EuroStrings Guitar Competition winner, Lovro Peretić stepped on the stage first and played a interesting program that consisted of classical pieces from different periods such as classicism and romanticism. After Lovro’s performance, the audience got to enjoy rock and blues covers of popular songs thanks to young Ad Hoc band.

The atmosphere was truly amazing and we can’t say this enough – big thank you to everyone that participated in our competition, all the jury members that did incredible job, all the young guitarists that traveled from different countries. Special thanks also goes to the phenomenal artists whose concerts we won’t be able to forget! And last but certainly not least, big thank you goes to our audience! Without them, the atmosphere and the whole festival would not been the same. It’s amazing that sounds of hope sent from our summer stage got to all of you!

Our musical story continues as we are preparing more interesting activities for this summer. Until then, make sure to follow us on social media to get all the latest info about the upcoming events!
